SepI had loads of fun in the studio with Yenny and her beautiful little girl Daniella. These are digital samples taken from the shoot. I am yet to print from the negatives, I sure hope they turn out well!! Time will tell.
There is room for improvement with the lighting but I’m sure it will get much better as I go on :)
Big thanks to Yenny and Daniella, you are both amazing and beautiful xx

I think this is absolutely stunning. I would love to try this, developing my own concepts of course.

JunPortraits
Thanks to my very patient boyfriend and family I have started to really enjoy studio portraiture. I love learning about light and find that experimenting with different equiptment and techniques really excites me!! What can I say, It’s the simple things haha. Moving on … This year I hope to start using some of these techniques out of the studio, especially since I don’t have a real one at home. I have seen some of my classmates and friends work and must say that they are nothing short of inspirational. I could learn a lot from them and at some point I should start thinking about making my camera pay for itself!!

JunPhoto’s in this sequence are taken from Fort Lytton and St Helina Island. Built in 1881 and used for the defence of Brisbane until the end of the Second World War, Fort Lytton provides an opportunity to explore a typical nineteenth century fortress rich of history and clearly warn by time and presence. These were taken as part of a uni assignment in semester 1 of my first year. The initial focus of this assignment was on “freedom” or more the “fight for freedom” and the irony behind both colonies working toward a common goal even though fighting for different kinds of freedom whether it be personal freedom or a countries’ freedom.
For 65 years (from 1867 to 1932) St Helina Island played host to Queensland’s maximum security prison for men, and was home to the colony’s worst criminals. Time has certainly taken it’s toll on the ruins as did the prisoners as it was by their hands when the walls came down in the 1930’s. I find myself wishing I could turn back time and be a fly on the wall for just a little while. To see this prison in it’s former glory and to witness it’s operations would be fascinating. I’ll be adding more images along the way.

JunToowong Cemetery at Night
Leah and Mickey thought it was great and took advantage of every possible opportunity to scare the living *S* out of me!! On the up side though … we had some fun playing with light and Sparklers. Not that I know much about it right now but I’m learning and this was my first attempt. Would love to do a workshop in painting with light, anyone know any good ones?
